The Awards
The Long Field Book Awards are managed by the Long Field Spencer Academy library.

The timetable for the award runs from September 2025 to June 2026 and is open to all secondary students.
Schools can submit votes for the shortlist until December 5th 2025.
The shortlisted titles will be announced on 18th December 2025.
Students in participating schools then read all of the shortlisted books and vote for their favourite title.
There will be challenges and competitions with excellent work being shared on the blog and social media.
The winner will be announced in June 2026
Criteria for Selection

Work of fiction suitable for students aged 11-16.

Books first published in paperback in the U.K. from 1st September 2024– 31st August 2025.

Only the first title in a series will be eligible.

Captures the interest and imagination of the reader
